J. Lewis Muir > Software > Minibeam

Minibeam is an EPICS control interface for the GM/CA four aperture mini-beam apparatus mounted on a carrier stage for inserting or retracting the apparatus.

Minibeam is written as EPICS databases, an SNL program, and MEDM screens. The carrier stage is controlled by an EPICS motor record, and the positional unit of measure is millimeters. The apparatus stage horizontal and vertical axes are controlled by EPICS motor records, and their positional unit of measure is micrometers. The unit of measure of the aperture size is micrometers. Step scans, using EPICS sscan records, of the axes' positions against intensity are used to tune the aperture positions. Or the aperture positions can be tuned by hand.
